Export Control
Certain positions at Dominion may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law. Compliance with these export controls may result in Dominion limiting its consideration of certain applicants.
This role assists in the management of the daily natural gas operations to meet the overall physical requirements of the pipeline system. This role utilizes the SCADA system to monitor and control gas facilities by operating remote control valves, regulators and compressors and ensures that pipeline pressures stay within Maximum Allowable Operating Pressures (MAOP). Analyzes transmission pipeline system and recommends operational changes in anticipation of changing requirements. Analyzes gas control data and responds to SCADA alarms. Adjust gas volumes and pressures to meet market requirements by considering forecasts and supply portfolios and storage plans. Assist in the implementation of the daily operating plan to support the economic, efficient, and reliable operations of the gas system. Develop a professional working relationship with field personnel, pipeline contacts, and other departments that interact with Gas Control. Comply with all government regulations for Control Room and Alarm Management.
Knowledge of company operations, pipeline network and facilities (compressor stations, storage pools, production systems, etc.).
Knowledge of company operating procedures, policies and regulations.
Ability to learn and retain station specific knowledge-Ability to respond competently under pressure.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport.-Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, detect errors and recommend changes.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to stay focused and cognitive of changing pipeline conditions over a 12 hour shift.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
In depth knowledge of at least one business unit's pipeline system operations preferred.
Effective personal computer skills.
Prior military background is a plus
