Plant Manager
IMMEDIATE NEED FOR A PLANT MANAGER IN A HEAVY EQUIPMENT REPAIR PLANT ENVIRONMENT. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CLEVELAND, TX. CANDIDATES LIVING IN NEARBY CONROE, TOMBALL, SPRING, HUFFMAN AND NORTH HOUSTON WOULD BE GREAT FITS.
Our client would be looking for a leader who can affect and empower change, create buy-in, and drive follow-through at both the salaried and hourly employee levels. Business growth will come in the form of efficiency improvements and improved teamwork.
This facility currently operates two / three shifts with approximately 110 total employees; their hourly employees are unionized. The facility is the company's largest repair shop and they are looking to double the number of items repaired on a daily basis.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Plant Manager will direct and oversee all plant operation areas of expertise including but not limited to repair operations, materials & inventory, safety and quality.
REQUIREMENTS
Please note that this position is NOT suitable for first-time plant managers nor candidates who have worked solely in manufacturing environments. This is not an exhaustive list of requirements.
Education & Years of
Experience:
A college degree, preferably in Industrial Technology, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
Candidates with a HS Diploma or GED will be considered if they have at least 10 years of experience in a Plant Manager role.
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a Plant Manager's role, with 10 - 15 years of experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience with first-time implementation of lean methodologies to a work place
Industry Experience
Candidates who have managed tank car or other railcar repair facilities are highly desirable.
Experience managing repair services in industries such as truck repair, ship repair, earth moving equipment repair, etc., are also welcome to apply.
This is NOT a plant maintenance position.
Managing a process that involves a significant amount of manual welding (non-robotic welding)
Managing a facility that is part of a heavily regulated industry (AAR, DOT, FDA, etc.)
Previous experience with first-time implementation of lean methodologies to a work place
